On July 21, 2019, the grit chamber hopper at the Tull C.Allen Wastewater Treatment Plant malfunctioned, causing an overflow at Silver Run Road.  The area was treated and disinfected.  As a preventive measure, an auto shut-off will be added to turn off the pump if a maximum water level is reached.

On February 20-22, 2019, there was an extreme rain and flooding event where much of the sewer system was under water.  Oxford experienced sanitary sewer overflows at the following locations:

All these areas were treated and disinfected once the flood waters receded.

On March 4, 2019, a sanitary sewer overflow occurred at Teague Street due to heavy rains and flooding.  The pumps were checked in the lift station and a broken wear ring was repaired. The area was treated and disinfected once the overflow had stopped.
