On September 23, 2018, a sanitary sewer overflow occurred near the Winn Dixie on Highway 78 due to a leak in the forcemain caused by deteriorated customer valve. The deteriorated area on the customer valve was replaced. The overflow reached a pond area, where Oxford personnel created a dam and collected the wastewater to take to the treatment plant. Samples have been taken to ensure there is no further impact to the environment.
On February 23, 2018, a sanitary sewer overflow occurred at the Highway 202 lift station due to the level controller losing power. The level controller was fixed and the area was cleaned. To prevent future occurrences, an auxiliary flow was installed in the lift station in case of future power loss.
On February 12, 2018, a sanitary sewer overflow occurred at the manhole on Highway 21 in front of Beshears Tractor due to heavy rains and flooding. This manhole is routinely checked during heavy rain events.
